Changes on the Way for 2017
There have been a few big losses from our World Series champs. Next year we won’t have Jason Hammel, Aroldis Chapman, Dexter Fowler or Jorge Soler.
Jason was the first to go: Chicago Cubs decline option on pitcher Hammel

On the other hand, the Cubs do have a great new closer in Wade Davis. We also made the following moves. We have a new centerfielder…

The Cubs also added reliever Brian Duensing…

More changes are on the way, although probably nothing too significant. This is still a pretty impressive 40-man roster.
How will this translate onto the field in 2017? At least one place is predicting a repeat championship.
Here’s to hoping they are right!
