SHAWON DUNSTON

He was the first overall pick in the amateur draft, and had one of the greatest arms of any shortstop in baseball history. He was also a fan favorite (fans kept track of his batting average with the Shawon-O-Meter), and had a long successful major league career. But Shawon Dunston's mustache was, sadly, below par.

There were years in the 1980s when Shawon's mustache would have batted no better than seventh in the Cubs mustache lineup. Still, he tried his best. For that effort alone, we salute the little mustache that could.

Dunston turned 45 years old on Friday.

Comment: I love that video. I always imagined them talking that way on the field before the game.

Comment: I don`t want to say that Shawon was a little wild in his first few years but I caught more balls than the first baseman and my seats were behind the first base dugout.
