DAVE ROSELLO

The Cubs really thought Dave Rosello was their shortstop of the future when they traded away fan favorite Don Kessinger to open the position for him. Kessinger was getting old, and didn't have a mustache at all, and Rosello was mustachioed and only 25.

Unfortunately, Rosello didn't quite live up to expectations. His fielding left a lot to be desired (he made 12 errors in only 80 plus games), and hit only .242 with no power at all. The Cubs had seen enough. The next season, they acquired Ivan DeJesus to take his place.

DeJesus was better in the field, better in the batter box, and let's be honest about this, had a much better mustache.

Rosello turns 58 years old this week.
