DENNIS LAMP
Dennis and his impressive mustache were in the Cubs organization for a decade between 1971-1981. His major league debut came late in the 1977 season, when he was called up to help out the fading Cubs team that had started so strong that season. Judging by his 6.30 ERA, he wasn't quite ready for prime time.
He was a member of their starting rotation the next few years, and even won 11 games for them in 1979, but sadly, it wasn't until he was traded to the White Sox in 1981 that somebody figured out his rubber arm belonged in the bullpen.
That's where he made his mark in the big leagues. He was a key member of the 1983 White Sox playoff team, and later pitched in the playoffs for the Blue Jays and the Red Sox, but he and his mustache will always be remembered by us for their time with the Chicago Cubs.
